My Approach
I believe in a holistic approach to therapy that addresses the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. My therapeutic approach combines traditional talk therapy with somatic approaches to facilitate deep healing and transformation. Together, we will co-create a safe and supportive space where you can embrace curiosity, explore, and discover new ways of relating to yourself and others.
What you can expect:
Intersectionality: Your cultural context matters and the systems in which you exist are important in therapy. This space is LGBTQIA+ affirming, sex-positive, anti-racist, supportive of all consensual adult relationships, and operates from a HAES lens.
Evidence-Based Techniques: Therapeutic interventions utilized are grounded in evidence-based practices that have been shown to be effective in promoting positive change. I draw from a variety of modalities, including ACT, DBT, narrative, and somatic-based approaches to create a customized treatment plan that works for you.
Somatic work: I recognize that the body holds valuable information and wisdom, and we will integrate somatic techniques to help you access and process stored emotions and trauma. If it is available to you, we will use gentle exercises, mindfulness practices, and body awareness techniques to guide you in reconnecting with your body's innate capacity for healing and regulation.
Trauma-Informed Care: I approach therapy with sensitivity to the impact of past traumas on your nervous system and overall well-being. My trauma-informed approach ensures that therapy proceeds at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you, with a focus on building trust, empowerment, and resilience.
Long-Term Growth and Wellness: My ultimate goal is to help you not only alleviate immediate distress but also to cultivate long-term resilience and well-being. We will work on providing you with the tools, insights, and support you need to thrive in all areas of your life.
